Bijrani Tourist Area is a very popular area in the remarkable Corbett Tiger Reserve. This area is enriched with a huge number of plant and animal species. Bijrani gives serious competition to the Dhikala area in terms of tourists’ preferences. The area is known for its beautiful scenery and is a very peaceful and quiet place. The beauty of this place is appreciated by all visitors. This is one of the most tiger-rich areas of the park. Bijrani consists of a mixed topography with dense sal forests interspersed with grasslands. Entry to this area is through the Aamdanda Gate.

Among the six safari zones, the Bijrani zone is considered to be the best zone after Dikala zone for tiger sightings. The picturesque landscape of this zone, which consists of large grasslands known as chauris and dense sal forests, numerous water bodies, and river streams, is no less charming than that of the Dhikala zone. The chances of tiger sightings in this zone are almost the same as in the Dhikala zone and safari tourists often report tiger sightings. Along with the big cats like Bengal tigers and leopards, other species of animals such as wild elephants, and black bears as well as various species of deer and antelopes namely chital, sambar, and pine deer are also found in this area. It is also an ideal place for birdwatching – around 600 species of native and migratory birds are found here.

More Details About Bijrani Safari Zone

Bijrani zone is about 5 km from Ramnagar, after traveling a kilometer from the gate, tourists enter the buffer zone. The Bijrani Zone offers one of the best safari experiences in Corbett National Park as you can witness a scenic stretch that features large grassy fields of Chaurs and dense Sal forest as well as river streams. Chances of spotting a tiger in this area are slim, but not only tigers, but also various species of animals such as sambar deer, boar, chital, elephant and black bear.

Bijrani is a beautiful place known for its vast grasslands, deep forests, meandering canals and wild life. A permit from the Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve is required to visit this area. A maximum of 30 vehicles can travel in Bijrani in the morning and the same number of vehicles in the evening. Advance booking is required for the morning and evening safaris. Bijrani has a forest lodge that has six rooms and a bedroom with four beds. You can also go on an elephant safari here.
