Jirna Tourist Area in Corbett National Park is located 20 km from Ramnagar. Before heading to Jirna, you must obtain a permit issued by the Corbett Tiger Reserve. This area is full of natural beauty and is especially famous for the wild beer that suddenly appears out of nowhere near your vehicle. 30 vehicles are allowed to enter this zone in the morning and the same number in the evening. For morning trips, a one-day visit permit is issued in advance and is valid six days before the actual day of travel. Evening trips are on a first-come, first-served basis. This is the only tourist area in the Korebet National Park that is open all 12 months. It is mandatory to bring a tour guide with you. There is a forest lodge in Jirna that has two rooms. You can spend the night here and go on an elephant safari in the morning.

Jirna is located on the southern fringes of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The animal population consists of sloth bears and wild elephants, which offer great views for wildlife lovers. The Jhirna zone is open throughout the year. Jhirna jeep safari area is one of the most attractive places in Corbett Tiger Reserve. Day visit to Jhirna zone is through Dhela gate which is located 20 km from Ramnagar. Its main terrain is predominantly deciduous and secondary forest, interspersed with plush open grasslands that offer incredibly good wildlife visibility.

Visitors must carry an entry permit with the identification documents listed on the permit. Day Visit Permit A permit to enter the Dhikala area is permitted only for tourists who are staying at the forest rest station. Permission to enter Corbett National Park is temporary and may be withdrawn or changed without prior notice. Login permissions belong to you and are not transferable. Entry into the forest area is strictly prohibited after sunset

There is one forest lodge in this area which offers 4 clean and tidy rooms, each with a double bed and attached bathroom. Tourists can book a maximum of 2 rooms for 3 nights. All the rooms are spacious and clean but the amenities provided are very less. The forest holiday home is one of the ideal places where you can enjoy the wildlife while staying amidst the dense forest.

Best time to visit
The area remains open throughout the year, but the best time to stay at Jhirna Forest Lodge is from November 15 to June 15.
How to book
Reservations for Dhikala forest lodge for Corbett Park can be made 45 days before the check-in date. Travelers from other countries can make their reservations 90 days before the date. Passport identification is mandatory for non-Indian passengers.
