Durga Devi Zone is a mountain safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Located in the northeastern part of the reserve, this zone is intersected at several places by the Ramganga and Mandal rivers. This area is particularly famous for the sighting of wild elephants and otters at Domunda Bridge. The famous mahshir fish can also be seen in the river waters of the Durga Devi zone. The lush green forests in this area provide ample opportunities for bird watching as well.

Tourists can stay overnight at Lohachaur forest rest station in this area. Visitors can take a jeep safari to enjoy the wildlife in the area. Reservation for the zone can be made through the official website. The Durga Devi area is open to visitors from October 15 to June 15 and remains closed during the monsoon season.

Jim Corbett’s Durga Devi Zone is famous for its safaris through dense forests and hilly terrain. Apart from the regional flora and fauna, the charming area is also home to a number of exotic birds, making it a favorite of ornithologists. Wild elephants, spotted and barking deer, sambars, jackals, and black-faced monkeys can also be spotted here.

Durgadevi is the gateway to this area, located 28 km from the nearest town of Ramnagar, making it the farthest area from Ramnagar. There is also a forest rest station called Lohachaur Van Griha in this area where tourists can enjoy an overnight stay and immerse themselves in the dense raw forest. Tourists must obtain a permit to enter the park to enjoy jeep safaris during the day or stay overnight at the forest rest station. It is better to book in advance as the park is crowded with tourists, especially on weekends and holidays. The Durgadevi Zone is open for tourists from October 15 to June 15 every year. During the monsoon season, the park is closed for all tourist activities.
